Sam and Emme were both using an online dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel, and they both matched with each other, but neither of them was really taking it seriously at the time. Emme messaged Sam first, they talked for a bit, and decided to make plans to go on their first date. On the day of their first date, Emme decided to cancel last minute. Emme never messaged Sam again for almost a week. However, Sam was very persistent and continue to message Emme in hope to make new plans. Emme is extremely glad that Sam never gave up and is glad that she gave him another chance. They went on their first date at an Indian restaurant and talked for more than two hours, having debates on some of the most controversial topics, and skipped all the small talks. It was easily one of the best dates they have been on. Before their first date end, Emme asked Sam to go on a second date with her. A month after their first date, they both went backpacking across Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras, crossing through the crime capital of the world, and now the rest is history.
