We have coordinated a tour of campus for those who want to see the main spots on North Campus + Sanford Stadium - home of the DAWGS! Meet at the Arch at 10:00am if you want to join the tour, which will take about 45 minutes and make a loop to end up back downtown! For those at Hotel Indigo, a shuttle will be available at 9:45am.
Most restaurants do not take reservations but you can put your name in & grab a drink near-by while you wait. - Last Resort - All food is great (lunch/brunch too), so just make sure to get the vidalia dressing on your salad & white chocolate cheesecake for dessert - Five Bar - Kirby Smart & Emmeline's high school friends favorite celebratory dinner - get the uptown shrimp & baked avocado appetizers...burger is also great - The Place - Classic southern meat & veggie spot with fun cocktails....get the fried chicken - Chuck's Fish -The best seafood & sushi in town - The National - A foodie spot with shareable tapas like the lamb hummus, patatas bravas, brussels, etc. (has rezies) - Seabear Oyster Bar - Fresh oysters & fun seafood in the "Bottleworks" area (near Chapel) - Osteria Olio - Italian restaurant with homemade pastas & woodfired pizzas in new hotel ~1 mile from downtown (has rezies) - Trapeze - A go-to pub with a variety of great sandwiches, fry sauces & local beers
Athens is known for having the most bars per square capita of anywhere in the country, so there is a spot for everyone! For views - Grab a drink & a snack on the top of the iconic Georgia Theater (we'll plan to be there on Friday afternoon for anyone who wants to join) For beer - Go to Creature Comforts Tap Room (Emmeline gets the Athena with Blackberry/Thyme & Ryan gets the Tropicalia) For lots of indoor/outdoor space, food & TVs (we know it's NCAA tournament weekend) - Post up at Paloma Park For a fun midday cocktail or beer - Hit up Pauley's (& get the chicken chops as a snack) For classic bar scene - Allgood Lounge, Magnolia's, Bar South, Boars Head, Roadhouse For a drink that's not a college bar - Head to Blue Sky or World Famous (w/ a side of pretzel bites) For a late-night flashback - 9d's Bar For a throwback to college where no one is over 21 (I've warned you!) - Woodford, Silver Dollar, Moonshine, Double Barrell, Bourbon Street, City Bar
Take a stroll or drive through UGA's campus! Campus starts downtown at the "Arch" on Broad Street. Continue on through North Campus (where Emmeline's mom works!), check out the fountain at Herty Field, and end at the infamous Sanford Stadium to check out the home of the dawgs & buy some UGA gear at the bookstore! If you have a car, can drive down Milledge Avenue with all of the sorority / fraternity houses or Lumpkin for the rest of campus dorms, buildings & athletic facilities. There is Auburn-UGA baseball happening that weekend, so encourage you to check out a game if you can!
