As many of you know TJ's dad Tom "Farmer" McCoy is battling neuroendocrine cancer. When Tom originally came to Bryn Mawr Hospital pre-diagnosis, I was fortunate enough to be his nurse. I had recognized the name "McCoy" as I grew up and attended school with TJ's first cousin. Having a long standing history with the family, it kindled a familiarity and closeness immediately to Tom. His room was constantly filled with visitors and family. Little did I realize I was meeting and building relationships with all my future in-laws. I will never forget the day I met TJ. I picked up a Saturday bonus shift. TJ was there alone with his dad which was unusual as Tom's room was constantly full. I had been Tom's nurse for a few days now. He began to play wingman and told TJ he should take me on a date. Sparks were flying. When TJ left for the day, he said goodbye to me at the nurses station. Tom and Fran insisted on getting my cell phone number for him. But, TJ had already followed me on instagram and began talking to me and the rest is history. It was all meant to be.
