We're ready, let's get married!

The classic High School Sweethearts story- Lucas and Emmarie met through a friend early on in high school. They became friends, hung out in a group or even would see each other at lunch, but it wasn't until August 2019 that things changed. A very Gen Z thing to do, Lucas texted Emmarie on Snapchat and that's what kicked off their friends-to-lovers story. They spent a few weeks texting back and forth trying to make plans together, but it wasn't until pairing up for a student-led event that they realized they clicked more than they thought. Lucas and Emmarie began dating on September 15th, 2019, just 3 days after Emmarie's 16th birthday. Since then, it has been the big love story you hope for as a child. Their first date was none other than a cozy date at home, making cookies and snacks, watching "Pitch Perfect 2" on DVD because Lucas swears it's better that way! The more time that has gone on, the two have leaned on each other and pushed through all the trials life has thrown at them. The two have tackled long distances for two years, both being in college, working jobs, and balancing life, all while standing by each other. And after 5 1/2 years, Lucas decided it was time... On May 2nd, 2025, Lucas planned a long weekend trip for him and Emmarie to spend in Hermosa Beach. This beach has deep significance to their relationship, as well as for each of them growing up. They went to dinner and, as they did so many times, watched the sunset on the beach. As the sun set below the horizon and Emmarie faced it, taking a photo... Lucas. was behind her on a knee, waiting to ask the question that had been heavy on his heart. Emmarie instantly knew "YES!" From then on, the weekend was a celebration for the two of them. Going back to the hotel, a second surprise was waiting, the entire room decorated and covered with flower petals, candles, and signs to celebrate their engagement. So excited Emmarie's first call... her parents, a memory neither of them will forget. Lucas has been a part of the family since 2019, ready to be there not only for Emmarie but for the whole family. The Shannazarian family is so lucky they get to "keep him" as they say. Their love story continues to grow more and more each year as they fall deeper in love. As some say, "when you know, you know," and they continue to prove this every day moving forward. They have always had a mature relationship, but are able to still be those two goofy kids who choose each other day after day. Lucas and Emmarie are so excited to celebrate their love with all the people they love the most!
