Don't leave Tenancingo without visiting its most famous monument, “Cristo Rey”, located on top of the Cerro de las Tres Marías. The monument has a height of 30 MT from the base and has a 360 viewing angle, where you can see a panoramic view of the city of Tenancingo.
Desierto del Carmen was populated by a small group of Carmelite nuns who came from the Desierto de los Leones in Mexico City. At this historical monument, you visit the temple and eat traditional Mexican food and candy.
Get the “Tenancingo experience” by visiting its downtown plaza. You can enjoy some fresh air while enjoying locally made ice cream, desserts, and food. The days of “plaza” are Thursdays and Sundays. Local vendors gather downtown to sell food, clothes, and other items.
