We are getting married

It was the summer of 2016, a warm August filled with lazy vacation days. I was in Como Lake, Italy with my family, and Killian was in the mountains in Valais with his, both of us equally bored and mindlessly swiping on Tinder. That’s when his message popped up: “What’s the name of the female polar bear?”—a question so unexpected that it instantly sparked a conversation. I was about to start university, and he was preparing for an adventure in New Zealand, yet despite the distance that lay ahead, we kept chatting, day after day, until we decided to meet in Milan. Malpensa Airport became the very first chapter of our story, the first of many goodbyes and reunions. Fast forward through at least 336 plane tickets and five different airports, and here we are, finally building our life together in Switzerland—getting married and turning our long-distance love into forever.
