Lovestruck

Two young creatives, one school, one photography class, a deep appreciation of Spongebob Squarepants.

Our paths first crossed in photography class our first semester in person at Cal State Fullerton when Covid-19 vaccines were finally being rolled out. Mike "always thought Emma was cute" despite never seeing the lower half of her face under a mask. Emma appreciated that Mike was the only fellow student who remembered her by name the first few weeks of class. Mike was embarrassed when he responded to the professors request for comment on Emma's work and had thought he was talking about a different students' work. Mike apologized to Emma after class thinking he might've hurt her feelings by "skipping over" her work. As Mike turned away, Emma felt the lightning strike. She didn't typically believe in things like "love at first sight," but she found herself overwhelmed by what she can only describe as divine intervention, a magnetic pull that screamed at her to get his number. Luckily, soon after this the professor assigned a partner project, and Emma wasted no time in volunteering to be Mike's photo model. "Finally," she thought, "I can strategize." Mike knew what was up the second he saw Emma for the first time without a mask or her signature cozy hoodie, now wearing a striking outfit for their photoshoot. The two fell in love after just a couple of weeks and have since gone on trips to the desert, the pacific northwest, and many expeditions in LA, they have adopted two fur-children, both cats named Bean and Toast and have lived together for two of their almost three years together.
