I first met Jacob in the salon Quincey and I owned… well, technically I met him three times before that too—and reintroduced myself each time—but on the day I cut his hair, he made sure I wouldn’t forget him. He kept flirting and making me laugh as I tried to shave his face, and afterwards, we went to church at Lingleville Baptist for the Tuesday night service. I had already planned to go with Quincey, and Jacob had already planned to go with her fiancée (now husband) Matthew. During the service, Jacob stood beside me and continued making jokes and whispering to me. I called my mom afterwards and told her about the sweet guy I had met and our fits of giggles. Not too long after, we went on a double date with Quincey and Matt (I had no idea it was a double date until Jacob offered his number). And after a series of events in which Jacob swooned me, I accepted his request for us to make it official. After only a month of dating, Jacob suggested we move in together. I thought that was pretty crazy! After praying over it, I accepted and decided to take the risk, and it brought one of the best rewards the Lord has bestowed to me- loving Jacob. Jacob often brags that he gets free haircuts, and that he has a hairstylist for life. It’s funny that he says that- because had it not been for a haircut, we might not have fallen for each other.
