It was summer, 2022. Emma had been visiting home from living abroad in Wales, where she worked with Ivan's sister, Jen. The two were off for the summer, and both in Canada. It was during a visit to Ottawa that the two crossed paths for the first time. Jen had friends there, and Ivan joined along for a hangout. The two thought nothing of it, breezing past each other as if strangers. It was summer, 2024. Emma had been visiting home again. Emma and Jen were off for the summer, and both in Canada, again. Ivan had been hearing about Emma through the grapevine since shortly after their first encounter. Emma had been hearing about Ivan in passing conversations as the two worked together. Jen was persistent that the two would hit it off. The two hit it off.
