The Ryman Auditorium, called the Mother Church of Country Music, is a beautiful venue where the Grand Ole Opry shot to popularity. While they are usually hosting concerts in the evenings, there are guided tours offered during the day with lots of photos and country music history.
Tootsies is almost as iconic as its across-the-alley neighbor, the Ryman Auditorium, and much rowdier. Since opening in the 1960s, it’s steadily been a go-to for music lovers and now even features a trendy rooftop bar. Other go to honky-tonks near lower Broadway include, The Stage, Robert’s Western World, The Second Fiddle and Wildhorse Saloon for free line dancing lessons each night.
Access off of 1st avenue between Broadway and Demonbreun. Head to the center for great views of the city skyline. You can also park for free on the opposite side of the river in the Nissan Stadium parking lot.
Nothing says “Nashville" like a night at the Grand Ole Opry. What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today an entertainment phenomenon showcasing a mix of country music greats-- new stars, superstars, and legends. Catch a show on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays or go for a back stage tour during the day.
Centennial Park is a great location to wander through or rent a bike! Located in the center of the park, The Parthenon stands as a re-creation of ancient Greece, and is a popular place to take fun photos. There is even an art museum located inside!
Enjoy a fun, relaxing afternoon of shopping and eating in 12 South. Grab a Jeni’s ice-cream, stop in at Edley’s BBQ for lunch, check out the "I Believe in Nashville" mural around the corner and shop at Draper James (owned by Reese Witherspoon) and White’s Mercantile.
