Ellwood A Mattson Lower Harbor Park

Will and Emma played as children here. Now they enjoy walks along the lake, going to the many fantastic restaurants nearby, and lovely views of the Ore Dock.

Sugarloaf Mountain

A relatively easy hike, but be prepared for many stairs. On top is a gorgeous view of Marquette and the lovely Lake Superior, including Presque Isle where Will and Emma will be married.

Presque Isle Park

Sunset Point

True to name, this is a fantastic spot to catch the sunset. Alternatively, for early risers, enjoy Emma's favorite, the Lake Superior sunrise (ask Emma for the best sunrise spots).

Dead River Falls

A relatively easy hike through the woods to see a spectacular set of waterfalls. This can be a short hike to the waterfalls or go deep into the woods for a long adventure.

McCarty's Cove

This has been the location of countless happy memories between Will and Emma. McCarty's Cove was a short walk from their college apartment. W&E would often admire the beautiful ornate houses along Arch and Ridge St.

Shiras Park

Shiras Park has a nice playground and a nice view of Picnic Rocks.

Powder Mill Disc Golf

This disc golf course doubles as a gorgeous walk through the woods near Dead River.

Downtown Marquette Farmers Market

on Saturday, June 19th from 9am-1pm

Founders Landing

This is a nice picnic location within walking distance from the Hampton Inn. Will and Emma had a tradition with college roommates eating Main St Pizza here after college finals.

Arch and Ridge Streets Historic District

Throughout our college years, we spent many summers walking Arch street and Ridge street admiring the ornate houses. There are so many different styles and colors to look at. Be sure to check out Dandelion Cottage on Arch St between Cedar and Spruce Street.

Marquette Tourist Park

Camping location also great for a short walk by Harlow Lake

Hogback Mountain

This is a strenuous hike through the woods and up a rocky cliff side. If you're feeling up to a bit of a challenge, this hike is absolutely worth it. On top of the mountain is a breathtaking view of Marquette and Lake Superior. Nothing beats this view in the fall when the leaves are vibrant.

Wetmore Landing

This is a gorgeous beach location or take a walk through the woods. Go all the way to Little Presque Isle or just take a quick trek.

The Vierling always has excellent whitefish, a Marquette delicacy. They also brew beer, Will and Emma love the Blueberry Wheat.

Stuckos Pub Grill

Delicious food & cocktails. Known for their "shoop" the 32 oz beer.

Vango's Pizza & Cocktail Lounge

Will and Emma eat here quite often. Moderately priced for delicious food. Will and Emma both recommend the Cajun Chicken Sandwich.

Donckers

Will and Emma have enjoyed many meals together here. Donckers has an excellent breakfast and lunch menu. They have specialty candy and various wares on the first floor. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Will and Emma recommend a Mackinac Island Fudge shake. See also Delft Bistro (next door to Donckers)

Beer run location, closest stop to Hampton Inn. Will and Emma walked here many times from their college apartment. They have many fond memories walking here for beer when classes were cancelled due to snowstorms.
