Our Love Story

A Long Time Coming

Emma and Wesley met in 2021 through mutual friends, just as both were stepping into exciting new chapters of their lives. Emma was a rising sophomore in college, while Wesley had recently graduated from the State College of Florida with his AA and was preparing to begin his career in the electrical field in Bradenton. From the very beginning, their connection was effortless—filled with laughter, encouragement, and an undeniable excitement for what the future might hold. As their love blossomed, so did their adventures together. Emma encouraged Wesley to continue his education and pursue his bachelor’s degree alongside her, and when she became a junior at the University of Florida, Wesley moved to Gainesville so they could chase their dreams side by side. Their UF years were filled with laughter, traditions, and unforgettable memories—cheering at nearly every Gator football and baseball game, fostering six kittens and one playful puppy, and enjoying evenings of pickleball almost every night. Between Delta Zeta date functions, classes, and work, they built a life together rooted in teamwork, joy, and a shared love of every little adventure. That May brought change, memory-making, and a very big question. Wesley returned to Sarasota to begin working full-time as a Superintendent with Willis Smith Construction, while Emma graduated from UF and headed north to Philadelphia to pursue her master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Before the distance began, Wesley asked Emma to spend forever with him—and of course, she said yes. Though the next year was spent miles apart, their love only grew stronger as they cheered each other on through every milestone. After graduating from UPenn, Emma returned home to Florida to begin her career as a Finance Program Manager with the Sarasota County School District. Wesley continues his work with Willis Smith Construction as a Superintendent, currently helping bring Wellen Park High School to life. In June 2025, Emma and Wesley moved into a home together and adopted their sweet kitten, Cookie, officially becoming a family of three. Their days are filled with love, laughter, and gratitude for the journey that brought them here. They are so excited to begin this next chapter—hand in hand, hearts full—and celebrate their love through marriage.
