We met on Emma's first day at Vero Pizzeria. We began our relationship as friendly co-workers who enjoyed working together. Over the course of our first year knowing one another, our working relationship grew into a very close friendship. In June of 2018, we both acknowledged our love for one another, and we never looked back!
Our first date almost didn't happen. We both were working on a slow weeknight at the Pizzeria. Troy suddenly got the idea to go out to a movie together. After convincing the manager to let him off early, we rushed to the theater and got there just in time for the 8:30 p.m. showing of Han Solo, a Star Wars Story.
Ah, 2020. What a year to plan a proposal! We were supposed to do a study abroad in Italy together in May of 2020. Little did Emma know that Troy was planning to propose on that trip. Of course, that trip never happened. In the fall of that year we went on a short trip to Asheville. Again, Troy planned to propose on this trip, but the ring was not ready. Finally, on Christmas day, in front of Emma's family, Troy surprised Emma with a gift. Inside was a hand-drawn card and a wooden box. Inside the wooden box was a stunning engagement ring. Surprised and thrilled, all Emma could do was nod.
