Our story is a pretty crazy one... it all starts how all romantic love stories do, at summer camp. Sam's church had decided to go to Bagdad, KY for camp that year. While at camp, Sam got placed in a guy named Evan's small group, who was a student at WKU. The two hit it off while at camp and kept in touch until the school year. After getting to college, Evan got Sam plugged into church and the BCM at WKU, and even introduced him to his little sister. As Sam and Evan began to hang out more, playing disc golf, ultimate after 180, board game nights and eventually Harry Potter Movie nights, Emma started coming around more. Sam quickly fell for Emma, he adored the way she loved people, her intentionality with them, as well as her servant-heartedness and soccer skills. The two began hanging out more, playing soccer with little kids, going to the trampoline park, and doing a tough mudder. Over winter break they stayed up all hours of the night facetiming one another. After the new year, Sam and Carson surprised Emma and the Wright's by coming up early to hangout before CrossCon. It was then that a game of taboo broke out... after playing for a bit, Carson began describing a word. The clue he gave was, "something I was going to bring for you and someone else in the room." Realizing what he had done, Carson quickly tossed the card away. At the end of the round, Emma, curious at what the card had been, demanded to know what the word was. To the horror of Sam and Carson, they revealed the word had been "Mistletoe." Sam, red with embarrassment, sunk back into the couch, knowing the cat was let out of the bag. The rest of winter break continued as normal, and Sam worked up the courage to ask Emma to grab coffee when they got back to school. The two met up for coffee when they got back, and it went better than either of them could have imagined. They confessed their feelings for each other, and looked back at all the silly little things they had done to get the others attention. They chatted, and chatted, and chatted until Sam's friends came by the coffee shop to see if he had been kidnapped. Six hours later, to them which had felt like 30 minutes, they agreed to go on a date soon. Seventy-two outfit changes, 53 hair fixes, and 97 prayers later, they were both ready for their first official date. After a nice dinner that was only slightly awkward, Sam and Emma agreed to end the night with some Spider-Man with dirt and worms. That night Sam went home to his roommate, telling him it was the best date ever. The rest of the semester went the same, Emma began teaching Sam how to swing dance, they ran more tough mudders, went ice skating, and won the intramural soccer championship. Summer was coming up and both Emma and Sam decided they wanted to serve the summer at Crossings. Getting placed at separate camps was going to be tough, with limited calls, and days that felt like they lasted weeks. Luckily, with some strings pulled by some admins to see each other on off nights, countless letters written, late nights phone calls, and even a poem, they were able to make it through. The next year was even better than the previous, with countless memories and laughs. Some highlights were trips to the Caribbean, Universal, and Passion, another soccer championship, New Years, and all the weddings shot together. Another successful summer went by and Sam had decided he was going to propose to Emma. After months of planning, a lost ring, and countless questions from Emma asking when he was going to do it, the day had come. It started off as any other day with the couple, with a tough mudder down in Nashville. After getting shocked and jumping in freezing cold water, Emma raced back to get ready for her trip to Patti's with her small group... or so she thought. After dinner, Sam was waiting for her at the lighthouse where they had first talked about getting married. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, to which she said "YES."
