Israel’s guidelines require for travel to Israel one must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) including Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, the Serum Institute of India, or Johnson and Johnson vaccines; effective 11.15.2021, also Sputnik-V vaccine Persons who have been vaccinated with two doses (or one dose in the case of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine) and are at least 14 days from the second dose at the day of arrival in Israel (but no more than 180 days at the day of departure from Israel). People who have been vaccinated with the booster shot and 14 days or more have passed from vaccination from the day of arrival in Israel. The guidelines for entry into Israel are changing daily. PCR tests are required for all travelers to Israel: 72 hours before departure to Israel. A negative PCR test is required to board the flight along with the entry declaration form which must be filled in within 24 hours of flight. You will be required to take a COVID PCR test at the airport, upon arrival in Israel. This is required to leave the airport. After leaving the airport, you must go to your hotel or place of accommodation and remain in isolation until the results from you COVID test are received. This usually takes 5-6 hours. You will need to be tested 72 hours before departure from Israel to return to your country of origin in addition to filling out an exit declaration form.

On the second floor of the airport there are affordable taxi options to get to your hotel. The price for this taxi should be approximately 120-130 shekels. There is also a train that runs from the airport into central Tel Aviv, the Ha Shalom station, where there are also plenty of taxis that can get you to your hotel or Air BnB. Download the app, Gett, before you arrive in Israel. Gett is Israel's, "Uber" equivalent to help you get around seamlessly. The Gett taxis are not able to go in and out of the airport. The cities are very easy to navigate by walking and other taxi's can be obtained at your hotel or on the street as the Gett application is a bit more expensive than Uber.
Download whatsapp! This application works on WiFi and can be used for texting and phone calls in Israel while connected to WiFi or with your cell service carrier. The currency is shekels. You can obtain shekels from your banks in America to have cash on you while in Israel for tipping and shopping at the markets. Make sure you provide your credit cards with a travel notice in order to use your cards in Israel however beware of foreign transaction fees so check with your banks ahead of time!
