We're getting Married!

Roland planned a day of activities from several dates early in the relationship. This included going to the Kirkland marina to get taco del mar and eat by the water, reading by the beach, and playing 20 Questions at a park near his house. Even though he planned to ask Emma at the park, too many children were running around. As a change of plans, he took Emma to the place they first kissed (near what he called the "spooky trail" as a kid) and got down on one knee. Emma had no idea what he was planning all day but was pleasantly surprised, and she (obviously) said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.

We met for the first time in High school during our 0-period gym class. Our mutual friend, Katie, was dragging Emma across the gym floor because she was tired and trying to sleep before class started. Roland saw this and thought "what a weird way to start the day". A few weeks later, Emma asked him if his grandfather worked for Metro and she mentioned how her dad worked for the company as well. The family connection later sparked a friendship and after starting college, we each realized how much we liked to be in each other's company. We have been together ever since!
