At the beginning of junior year of high school, two of our friends were paired together for Link Crew, a program at our high school where upper classmen help with freshman orientation. During orientation, I was hanging out with my friend when Nate suddenly offered me a brownie. It was a simple, sweet gesture that sparked something between us. It took a few more months of getting to know each other, shared laughs, and countless little moments (and a lot more brownies) before we officially became a couple. Looking back, it's funny how a single brownie led us to where we are today. And now, here we are, ready to start out next chapter together, still sharing those sweet moments that brought us together in the first place.
On a family vacation in Maui, Hawaii, we headed to the beach to take some family photos before dinner. Nate and I were getting some couple photos taken, when all of a sudden, Nate knelt on one knee. He pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said "Yes"! It's almost as if fate brought this moment upon us, as I had coincidently bought Nate a ring the day before with absolutely no knowledge that he had plans for the following day.
