Travel

For those of you who aren't close enough to drive, flights will be in to PDX international airport. There is a robust public transit system which connects directly to the airport, and of course the standard options for rental vehicles and uber/lyft. Our home is a few short steps from the 20 bus on East Burnside street, and a 15-20 minute walk from the NE 60th MAX train station. Accommodation Recommendations! There's no hotel block, but here's a few suggestions for a variety of places and neighborhoods to stay. Feel free to chart your own course!

Hotel

Jupiter Hotel Portland

800 East Burnside Street, Portland, OR 97214

A boutique hotel with a a relatively wide scale of options. Directly off Burnside and the 20 bus, VERY walkable.

Hotel

Tiny Digs Hotel of Tiny Houses Portland

2646 Northeast Glisan Street, Portland, OR 97232

A fun option for standalone housing in the neighborhood. Effectively a parking lot full of tiny homes for short stay rentals.

Hotel

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland

1000 Northeast Multnomah Street, Portland, OR 97232

If you're looking for a more familiar hotel stay, the double tree is right next to a MAX station, and otherwise convenient to our home and walkable neighborhood favorites.

Hotel

McMenamins Kennedy School

5736 Northeast 33rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97211

A little out of reach if you're traveling without a car, but otherwise a neat and iconic Portland stay. One of many historic locations rehabilitated into modern hotels/breweries, this particular McMenamin's has it's own pool.

Hotel

NW Portland Hostel

479 Northwest 18th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209

Charming hostel stay with options for private rooms in a quiet/cozy part of downtown. Still with easy access to the 20 bus as well as a variety of Portland amenities West of the river.

Hotel

The Society Hotel - Portland

203 Northwest 3rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97209

Boutique hostel and hotel with a wide array of options in a true downtown Portland neighborhood. Might be a touch gritty for some folks, but still safe and walkable to a MAX station, the river front, and other Portland icons like the white stag sign and Lan Su Chinese gardens.
