Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emma Barnett and Matt Floyd
Welcome to our nation's capital! We’re so excited to celebrate with you! While you’re in town, we hope you get a chance to explore some of our favorite spots around D.C. and Maryland. Each location, with the exception of Georgetown, is accessible by foot or by riding the redline on the Metro.
Bethesda

Bethesda

4827 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814

Shop & Stroll Bethesda Row – The heart of it all: boutiques, bookstores, sweet treats, and people-watching galore. Our Food Favorites Tastee Diner – A Bethesda staple, our go-to for a traditional American diner breakfast. Silver – Elevated diner food with a modern twist (and great for groups). Bethesda Bagels – For the NY & NJ crowd that need their lox. Mon Ami Gabi - Classic French bistro with amazing steak frites. Uncle Julio's Bethesda – If you're in the mood for tex-mex and steak fajitas, look no further. Olazzo – Solid italian. Pro tip: ask for a side of pesto sauce to dip your bread in. Coffee Tatte – Great coffee, pastries, fruit, and quick breakfast. Highly recommend. Runners The Capital Crescent trail is a great run route for those of you staying in Bethesda. You can find the entrance to the trail right across from the Anthropologie store on Bethesda Avenue.

Georgetown

Georgetown

3301 M St NW, Washington, DC 20007, Washington, DC 20007

Where we first said "I love you!" Whether you want to shop, grab a bite of pizza (try Il Canale), or walk along the Potomac river, Georgetown is a must visit during your time in D.C.

The National Mall

The National Mall

Lincoln Memorial, 2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NW, Washington, DC 20002

If you're down for a nice walk, stroll past the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Reflecting Pool (great for golden hour pics).

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560

Free, air-conditioned, and amazing. Matt's favorite is the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, particularly the pre-hominid species wing. At the National Air and Space Museum you can see the Cobra Attack helicopter designed by Jack Floyd, Matt's late grandfather. If you find yourself in the sculpture garden, Matt's great-great-great grandfather, Robert Launitz, made the urn centered in the middle!

For all the days along the way
