Dr. George Pope & Ms. Sarah Pope Along with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bratton
Our love story began at Sunnybrook Christian Church, where we were serving with the youth group on Wednesday nights. We had known each other since high school, but we had never really talked until that point. Emma's Point of View: Around April 2021, he caught my eye, and I made a very obvious effort to talk to him after youth group every Wednesday. My next course of action was to get his number and ask him to set up a pick-up soccer game for the upcoming summer. I got his number and sent my first daring text, asking if he wanted to play. He said yes! This was a huge success, and we started playing every weekend. Mason's Point of View: Up until that point, I had liked Emma since we started talking at youth group. However, I am terrible at picking up on hints like the ones Emma was giving, and I was unsure if she liked me too. We started playing soccer over the summer, and we got to know each other a little better. I realized very quickly how much we had in common, and it took me about a month to build up the courage to ask her on our first date. We went to Palominos for lunch and then played racket ball and ping pong for a couple of hours afterward. It was an absolute blast, and our relationship has grown into a love that we will get to spend the rest of our lives sharing. Since April 2021, our relationship has been full of lots of dancing (we are now intermediate two-steppers). We have seen each other at our best and worst. There have been countless car jam sessions and multiple road trips along the way. Not to mention the extremely high amount of coffee we have drunk together. It makes our hearts so happy to look at how much our relationship has grown up to this point, not just in our ability to meet each other's needs, but also in our ability to reflect Christ in the way we love and serve each other. There is still so much of this story to be written, and we can't wait for every second of it. #BringOnBratton
