How we met

Emma and I met at a summer wedding in my hometown of Gulfport, Mississippi. I had just finished a semester off school, during which I spent most of my savings traveling. Emma was just beginning her career as a labor and delivery nurse at East Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans. Like any single man, I was watching the wedding party during the wedding ceremony and noticed some beautiful ladies I had never met before, one of them being particularly stunning. That afternoon, at the reception, that specific beautiful bridesmaid came up to me and complimented my tie. Her name was Emma Walsh. It was a lovely tie, adorned with sailboats, and if you know my family, you'd know we are avid sailors. I looked down at her and noticed she was the only bridesmaid who had traded her heels for sneakers. I thought, "This is my kind of girl." We proceeded to the dance floor, where Emma and I shared our first dance. After dancing and laughing with all our close friends on the dance floor, the reception came to an end, and it was time to continue the celebration elsewhere. The wedding party loaded up on the party bus to head to the bar down the street to keep the party going. With Emma Walsh on my mind, I hopped on the party bus with the wedding party, and off we went. I took a seat right next to the beautiful bridesmaid, Ms. Walsh, and continued to chat with the girl who would one day become my wife. At the bar I told her of my upcoming move to New Orleans and how I'd be looking for someone to show me the city. She was excited about the possibility and we talked all night of the city that we would soon share. That night at the bar, I learned something about Emma that still holds true today. Not only is she my favorite person in the world, but she's also an early bird who has a knack for executing an Irish goodbye. I realized this when I turned around after buying her a drink and found that the beautiful bridesmaid Emma Walsh had left the premises. Come to find out later, she had been tempted away by food offered by her parents, an offer too good to turn down. The Irish goodbye left me in shock and wondering when I'd see that beautiful lady again. Thanks to a friend of a friend, I got Emma's number and asked her on a date only three days later. Unable to contain my excitement, I concocted an excuse to visit New Orleans so I could see Emma again. Our first date consisted of us exploring New Orleans, getting lost because I let Emma navigate, and having the best day in each other's company. After that first day, nothing could separate us; we had found our person. After a year of fun-filled adventures and lasting memories, Emma and I got engaged in Rosemary Beach on our one-year anniversary, July 20th. We couldn't be more excited to begin our life together on May 18th and have all of you witness this beautiful sacrament. We will be living in New Orleans, where the Seicshnaydres' adventures will begin! May our lives be a testament to the gratitude we hold for God's goodness! - The Future Seicshnaydres
