FAQs

HI! We know having a wedding with everything going on in the world seems pretty unconventional and it absolutely is; however, we have never been conventional and putting our lives on hold isn't something we fancy. Hopefully some of the FAQs will answer any concerns. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out!
Question

Why are you having a wedding during Covid-19???

Answer

We completely understand and sympathize with everyone's concerns and hesitations. We absolutely understand if guests wish to not attend and in no way do we want people to feel like we are forcing them to attend. However, while we had originally planned to get married next year, given the chaos of this year, we wish to start our lives now, rather than waiting in case this world gets anymore chaotic We absolutely plan on following all state guidelines for events and taking every precaution necessary to assure everyone is safe. These precautions will be outlined in one of the following questions. This wedding will be family and wedding party only to limit the guest count to under 50 people. However, if state guidelines change or we feel it is in the safety and best interests of our guests, we will reevaluate and adjust to immediate family and local wedding party members only.

Question

What precautions do you plan on taking?

Answer

The first precaution we are taking is enforcing a much smaller guest count. Secondly, if you feel sick, are having Covid-19 symptoms, or have come into contact with someone who may have Covid-19, please stay at home and get better. We will have a temperature check before the ceremony and we will have hand sanitizer on each table and placed strategically throughout the venue. Masks will also be provided if guests would like to wear one. We will also have some type of indicator, either a bracelet or boutonniere, indicating your social comfort level with more details on those to come. We will also be giving the option in your RSVP to be seated with your same household or if you wish to be mixed with other guests you know. Our dinner will be a plated dinner to avoid guests being too close to each other in line for a buffet dinner. At this time, only the traditional dances will be taking place. We will also have a live stream option for those who won't be in attendance.

Question

Will there be a live stream for those who can't attend?

Answer

Absolutely! More details and information about that will be updated on our website as the date gets closer.

Question

Are there any plans for a bigger celebration next year?

Answer

Yes! We want to be able to celebrate our marriage with everyone, life is just super uncertain right now. We plan to hold a larger reception in 2021 or 2022, it just depends on the state of the world. One of the reasons we're going through with the wedding this year is because of how uncertain the future is. We have no idea if next year will be any better, so we don't want to wait around to see.

Question

Why are you using e-save the dates and e-vites?

Answer

The wedding industry is an extremely wasteful one, this is just one of the few super easy swaps we felt like we could do in order to contribute less waste. Just trying to combat climate change the smallest ways we can.

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

We will be having various hors d'oeuvres following the reception. For dinner, we will be having pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions in order for us to accommodate.
