For days prior, Joe anxiously checked his weather app for the March 6, 2020 forecast- praying the rain cloud icon would disappear. Emma wondered why the weather was such a concern but started to get a hunch that something might be up. That Friday morning there was no rain in sight, so Emma and Joe drove to Potomac, Maryland, to one of their favorite art museums, Glenstone. (Emma continued to suspect Joe was planning something because he must have changed his outfit five times before deciding on jeans and a sweater.) The art was great, the grounds were beautiful, yet both Emma and Joe's minds felt a bit preoccupied the entire time. Towards the end of their visit, Joe suggested a walk down the nature path. They strolled by the Goldsworthy clay houses and the Gober buried sink sculpture, along a winding boardwalk. Finally, Joe got down on his knee and asked Emma to marry him. She said yes, and they both smiled and cried together amongst the trees and the art.
