We're getting married!!!! 我们结婚啦!!

We met through badminton in 2017 though we did not speak to each other until a while later. Both of us are super shy, so it took us some time to begin to talk to each other. (*/ω＼*) We had our first date in the Hungarian Pastry Shop, which is probably more well-known amongst the Columbia students. At the time, this was the ‘fanciest’ coffee shop Jason knew of, since he spent most of his time within the confines of Columbia’s campus. Looking back, the Hungarian Pastry shop is far from fancy, and the cookies tasted terrible. Still, we had an “interesting” first date, during which we discussed extensively about the education systems and politics in China and Malaysia, the origins of Kuala Lumpur and Yantai (Emma’s hometown), rather than the typical first date conversations. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ We officially started our relationship on July 18th, 2018. φ(゜▽゜*)♪ At the time, Jason was in an extended internship in California, while Emma was in Boston. In retrospect, beginning our relationship in long-distance mode has really helped us appreciate each other’s company more. After his internship ended, Jason returned to New York, and both would make frequent visits between New York and Boston. But we both wanted to take this one step further, so Emma eventually moved to New York, and we moved in together soon after in September 2019. (′▽`〃) Since moving in together, we’ve created a lot of fond memories through exploring the city and the myriad of adventures (which more often than not involve food) NYC has to offer. While 2020 has undoubtedly been a tough year, we’ve been fortunate since the extended lockdown has given us a lot of time to get to know one another at a deeper and intimate level. Therefore, we wish to start a new chapter in our lives with this commitment. On Dec 18th, 2020, we wish to share this special occasion of love and happiness with you, our cherished friends and family.

2017年我们通过一个羽毛球比赛相识，但是当时太害羞了，所以没有讲话。直到几个月后，Jason在马来西亚的时候我们通过聊天软件开始聊天。还记得刚开始聊的时候竟然聊烟台为什么叫烟台 (*/ω＼*)，Emma小时候有次旅行时候听导游讲解烽火狼烟台的时候认为这就是烟台的由来，结果Jason听了之后搜索了一下竟然真是。。。。（所以妈妈你以前让我旅游的时候记笔记以及时不时的提问还是有用的。。） 第一次约会也是巨害羞，Jason带我去了哥大附近的咖啡馆。。本来特别想问感情相关的问题记过硬生生聊成了中马政治和教育的利弊。。然后咖啡和饼干都难吃。。┑(￣Д ￣)┍ 正式确立关系是在2018年的夏天，那是Jason还在谷歌实习，Emma在波士顿上班，Jason每次下班的时候都会给Emma打电话，每次经过一个汽车修理厂的时候都会提一句，然后就是某一天又经过这个地方的时候，两个人在一起了。。虽然是通过远距离恋爱开始的，但是两个人几乎天天电话，视频，而且偶尔的几次见面也更珍惜彼此的存在和陪伴。那段日子都很辛苦，但是也给我们打下了很坚实的基础，让我们对我们的关系更加有信息更加坚定。在实习结束后，Jason回到纽约，Emma也在2019年春天搬到了纽约，开始两个人在纽约的小日子 (′▽`〃) 自从搬到一起，两个人的生活变得1+1 > 2, 无论想去哪里想去做什么，永远知道有一个人会马上说okay然后一起做体验纽约各个国家的餐馆，一起尝试各种运动。（壁球真的看不清球啊。。攀岩真的好废胳膊。。）就在我们计划去马来西亚的时候，新冠病毒开始了，我们取消了行程，几乎24小时全部在家。2020 毫无疑问是很艰难的一年，但是这一年，也给了我们俩更多相处的时间和更多深入了解的机会。每一天每一天，我们都更加了解彼此，更爱对方。 所以我们决定在2020年留下我们的脚步，同时也是在几年的时间内看到了两个人一起的未来。我们决定在12.18.2020这天注册登记，进入我们人生和关系的下一阶段。非常感谢大家能参加我们的微型但是温馨的婚礼，希望大家都健康平安，开心顺利。 王婧翰（Emma）&郑鸣宇（Jason）

Fun facts of Jason: Jason always cooks like a Michelin chef, he pays attention to every single detail, and of course, all dishes taste great!!! (but he hates washing the dishes) Jason recently becomes obsessed with beanies, he’s wearing beanies when he’s coding and even wears Emma’s beanies…. Fun facts of Emma: Emma loves to watch the anime she likes again and again and again (she has literally watched hunterXhunter, demon slayer, haikyuu for thousands of times (but def not one piece, since it’s too many episodes.. ) Emma is super shy and when she’s shy and nervous she would just stand or sit there and keep smiling.. (but in her mind she’s actually trying to find a topic and practicing how to initiate the conversation..)

Jason： 1. Jason头上有三个旋！（据说很倔的人才会有！！） 2.Jason对于做饭非常讲究，从用料到火候到摆盘，堪比米其林带星大厨 （当然味道也是非常好的） Emma： 1. Emma会一直反复观看自己喜欢的电视剧和动漫，从排球少年到全职猎人到鬼灭，几乎已经看了成百遍了（海贼王除外，太长了！！） 2. Emma在害羞的时候会微笑，但其实心里已经在练习到底用什么话题打破尴尬的局面。。
