We first met in 2016. We were both involved in Muse Machine, and went on a field trip to see Fiddler on the Roof at Wright State University. We didn't really get to know each other until that summer, when we were both on the same swim team. We quickly became close friends. It wasn't until a couple years later (2021) that Jake started catching feelings. Emma was oblivious. Everyone seemed to know, except her. There were times he said things, very directly, and she still didn't catch on. It wasn't until November of 2021 that Emma finally caught on, even though Jake was constantly at the house, going to the barn to muck stalls, sending her YouTube playlists. Once she did catch on, she realized that she loved him as much more than a friend. We started dating in November of 2021, and the rest, as they say, is history. We both knew, from the beginning, that we were supposed to be together.
Jake took Emma on a picnic to one of their favorite places -- the reservoir. He packed a picnic lunch. They ate and talked and fed the birds. They were talking about how much they loved each other, you know, the "I love you more" bit. Jake said, "I love you so much..." and paused. Emma said it sounded like he had something more to say. He got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and said, "I love you so much, I would marry you. Would you marry me?" She said yes, and they were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Ohio!
