Main Street Breckenridge is known for it’s incredible shopping and dining scene but it also serves as the central hub of everything Breckenridge with fun events, festivals, music, an abundance of activities for all ages and interests happening all year long. The best part is once you park the car or take the shuttle in for your trip you can walk anywhere, which means more time outside enjoying the mountains and enjoying the views.

The BreckConnect Gondola is a favorite to skiers and visitors alike and provides FREE access to the ski resort from the town of Breckenridge. The BreckConnect covers almost 400 feet of vertical rise and 7,600 feet in around 13 minutes. The ride offers beautiful views of the town and resort during the winter and summer months. Views of the Tenmile Range and the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve are plentiful while riding up.

Located on the shores of Dillon Reservoir at the eastern end of Main Street, the Frisco Bay Marina is where lake life meets quintessential mountain town. At just over nine thousand feet in elevation, this certified clean marina is your access point for these pristine alpine waters, a world-class sailing destination where regattas are frequently held. Best of all, you don’t have to own a boat or be a seasoned sailor to get out on the water. With boat and gear rentals, lessons to learn or hone skills, and tours, there are plenty of ways to explore this idyllic 3,000-acre lake. Rental options include pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boards, and more.

Mountain biking is a favorite summer activity, and Breckenridge is one of the best places to do it. Hundreds of miles of trails of all skill levels cut through the mountains around town. Several shops in town offer rentals. Colorado Adventure Guides in Silverthorne, just north of Breckenridge, comes highly recommended for guided tours of some of the best biking trails Colorado has to offer.

Breckenridge and the surrounding area also have hundreds of miles of paved trails, with plenty of options to get out on two wheels. Check out the Blue River Trail through downtown Breckenridge, running roughly 20 (relatively) flat miles to the town of Frisco. Enjoy downtown Frisco or continue on the trail, branching west to Copper Mountain and Vail Pass or east to Keystone Resort. Plenty of options to rent in town, with Elevation Ski and Bike (https://www.elevationskiandbike.com/) coming highly recommended.

Breckenridge has three championship nines, the BEAR the BEAVER and the ELK. All three nines are Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. Playing at 9300+ feet in elevation, each nine offers a mountain golf experience. Panoramic views of the snowcapped Colorado Rockies can be seen on every hole. Dense wooded areas give way to open native grassland and wetland areas. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife during your round including beaver, deer, elk, moose and sometimes even a bear. With the fantastic views and wildlife you may experience, you realize a visit to the Breckenridge Golf Club offers more than just golf!

The closest whitewater rafting section to Breckenridge lies only minutes north on the Blue River. This adventure is perfect for families and beginners looking for a shorter trip close by. The Blue River Express offers Class III whitewater with amazing views of the sharp, jagged peaks in the Gore Range. What’s even more impressive is the mixture of heart-pumping rapids and the inspiring mountain landscape provided by this 1/3-day adventure. Wetsuits and splash jackets are included at no extra charge so you’re prepared for this intermediate experience, just bring your river shoes!

Maggie Pond is an ideal place for families and first-timers to try paddle boarding. It offers incredible views of the Tenmile Mountain Range, a convenient in-town location and extremely calm waters. Maggie Pond is located at the base of Peak 9 near Main Street Station, and is a continuation of the Upper Blue River as it begins its flow through downtown Breckenridge. With numerous rivers, streams, alpine lakes and reservoirs all within an hour of downtown, there’s a destination to match nearly all interests and skill levels. Luckily, the top local shops like Breckenridge Outfitters and Mountain Angler boast overly-knowledgeable guides ready to provide their expertise to anglers of all skill levels.
