After communicating online, through the mid 2010's popular dating app, Tinder, Jack and Emma bonded over a shared love of literature, history, classical music, and a shared burden of studying a liberal arts degree in the 21st century. Following their first date at Vancouver's Orpheum, both were smitten with the Vancouver Symphony's rendition of Wagner's Lohengrin overture, and each other.
