Our Story

Jack and Emma grew up on the same street in Kent Woodlands, but on opposite ends, so despite being neighbors, they didn’t cross paths until fate (and a very competitive game of Capture the Flag) brought them together. Emma was 14, Jack was 15, and what started as a neighborhood-wide game quickly turned into a beloved after-school tradition. As high school rolled on, so did their friendship. The neighborhood kids spent countless evenings packed into the Hudsons’ garage, bonding over movie nights, ping pong battles, and jam sessions. Somewhere in the middle of all that fun, Jack and Emma began to realize there might be something more between them. On May 6th, 2017, Jack finally got up the courage to ask Emma to the Chapel Hill High School Swing Dance and the rest, as they say, is history. Over the next seven years, they grew up together. From navigating high school hallways to surviving long-distance during college, Jack and Emma stayed side by side—cheering each other on, growing in faith in Christ and love for each other, and eventually planting roots back in the Triangle area. Then, on January 5th, 2025, Jack got down on one knee in Merritt’s Pasture, a spot where they shared many picnics and long talks during their high school days. Now, on May 30th, 2026, they’ll begin the next chapter of their journey as they celebrate the sacrament of marriage at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, surrounded by the friends, family, and community who’ve been part of their love story from the very beginning. They are overjoyed to celebrate this special day with the people who have supported, shaped, and loved them along the way, and can’t wait to share in the joy with all of you.
