Maid of Honor
Sara has been my best friend since the very first day of kindergarten. From elementary school to high school, through university, and now into adulthood, we’ve pretty much been inseparable. I even cried when Sara would come over and she would hangout with Natasha because I wanted to hangout with her so much! We’ve always managed to obsess over the same things — Twilight, The Hunger Games (ask Natasha about opening night at the theatre…), endless reading, craft nights, wine nights… basically anything we can do together, we will. She’s the sister I got to choose, and there’s no one else I’d rather have standing beside me as Maid of Honor.
Bridesmaid
Natasha is my second-youngest sister, just a couple of years younger than me, so we basically grew up side by side. As kids, I may have used her as my punching bag (she somehow survived the bruises… and maybe even a black eye or two), but she still never got sick of me! Now she has to survive my competitiveness playing football. She's lasted two season, but not sure how many more she can endure... One of my favorite things as kids was making Natasha ask for everything or speak for me, since I was too shy — luckily, she’s always been the friendly one. Now, instead of being my spokesperson, she gets to be my bridesmaid, and I couldn’t be happier.
Bridesman
Abby is my youngest sister, five years younger than me, but the three of us have been best friends since the day she was born. Growing up, Natasha and I loved to use her as our guinea pig — especially when it came to asking our parents for things. After all, how could they say no to the little girl in pigtails and princess dresses? Now she’s all grown up (though she’ll always be our baby sister), and I’m so excited to have her standing beside me as a bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
Ally and I first met while lifeguarding together at the YMCA, and from that point on we’ve been pretty much inseparable. What started as pool shifts and staff room laughs turned into late-night drives, endless Taco Bell runs, grabbing Chung Chung, and far too many “rot” nights to count. We’ve never really mastered the art of being serious together — and honestly, I don’t think we ever will. Ally has been one of my favorite people to do life with, and I can’t imagine this day without her by my side.
Best Man
Landon is Holden’s older brother and original childhood tormentor who still hates losing to Holden at anything, especially video games. Now a dad, he somehow still plays Fortnite with Holden almost every night — which means Emma and Des get to listen to a lot of yelling and waiting for them to finish their games before coming to bed.
Groomsman
Holden and Derek met in Grade 9 and have been friends ever since. You’ll usually find them golfing, playing football, or playing video games like NHL or Fortnite and taking both very seriously.
Groomsman
Holden and Kegan played together on the Cyclones and in high school basketball. Known for his unmatched sarcasm and clothes several sizes too big, he’s currently working on beating Holden at golf — with no luck so far.
Groomsman
Holden met Kyle on the Cyclones and played high school basketball with him before Kyle moved on to play ball. Now they play flag football and men’s league basketball together — though most of their time is spent complaining about Kyle’s terrible Colts or Holden’s browns.
Emcee
Emma and Kristi first met on their very first RCBA basketball team and kept finding themselves back on the same team year after year, coached by Kristi’s dad. They loved playing together so much that they eventually joined the same club basketball team, where they continued to play — or sometimes ride the bench — side by side. Their friendship carried on through high school, where they became inseparable on and off the court. If you’ve ever spent time with them, you’ll know it’s rare to catch them without laughing or joking around. Kristi somehow never got tired of Emma’s competitiveness and even agreed to keep playing sports together — which is how they’ve ended up on the same flag football team the past few years.
Emcee
Evan and Holden go way back — like Cyclones club basketball, high school hoops, and questionable athletic decisions with Kegan and Kyle kind of back. After years of teamwork and trash talk, their friendship somehow stuck. These days, Evan has traded jump shots for snapping the ball for the elks flag football team, or swinging the clubs with Holden.
