FAQs

The Wedding Website of Emma Kiely and Greg Brownell
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 15th in order to allow the bride and groom ample time to coordinate cuisine, beverages, and seating with their wedding vendors!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

It's not every day that we get to celebrate in a Gilded Age mansion in Newport - we invite you to use this as an excuse to dress to the nines! Our wedding attire is black-tie optional - tuxedos or suits are recommended for men, and formal, floor-length dresses are recommended for women! Think summery, coastal hues - blues, greens, yellows, pinks, and muted florals. *Please note: bridesmaids will be wearing light blue!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

As much as we would love to include everybody, we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you have received a plus one, they will appear both on your invitation and under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I bring my child (or children)?

Answer

Yes! If you have a child or children, they will be featured on your mailed invitation and online RSVP. If you plan to bring your child, please RSVP for them online. We will have a private "kids area" set up in a room in Ochre Court that is equipped with a TV, coloring books, snacks & drinks, a private bathroom, and two to three CPR-certified babysitters personally interviewed and hired by the bride. We hope that this will allow parents to relax and enjoy, while still knowing that their children are safe and entertained just a few steps away from the reception ballroom! If you would prefer to find an outside babysitter for you and your spouse to have a date night, Emma will be happy to provide a list of recommended babysitters in Newport. If you have any questions about your child's attendance or the kids room, please reach out to Emma.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Given that our ceremony begins promptly at 4:00pm, please arrive to Our Lady of Mercy Chapel no later than 3:45pm to ensure that you will be seated and comfortable before the festivities begin.

Question

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We have opted for a hybrid design to allow guests to enjoy all of the beauty Ochre Court has to offer - our cocktail hour will be hosted outdoors on the Ochre Court lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, while our reception will take place indoors. You are always welcome to step outside to enjoy the sweeping ocean views!

Question

If I am staying on the hotel block, will there be transportation to the venue?

Answer

Yes! To ensure that our guests get to and from the venue safely, we will be providing guest shuttles to our wedding ceremony and back to the Holiday Inn Express following the reception. Timing details to come!

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Yes - if you know anything about Emma, you know she loves pictures! We ask that you please hold off on picture taking until the bride and groom make their way back down the aisle together after the Catholic ceremony concludes. After that, we invite you to capture all of the moments you'd like - we will even share a link that will allow all guests to share their pictures with us!

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There are multiple large parking lots located on Salve Regina's campus. There are parking lots directly to the left of Ochre Court, directly across from Ochre Court, and across from Our Lady of Mercy Chapel. Please be mindful of any parking lot signage that designates specific areas for Salve Regina Safety and Security.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate so on our RSVP tab so we can plan accordingly.
