We're Getting Married

Back in the summer of 2016, standing in East Side Mario's, when we looked at each other we knew that it was something special. And when we look back now that summer seemed to last forever and if we had a choice we'd always want to be there. 'Cause those were the days that started it all. We might have thought we were just taking a summer job but it was so much more than that.

A surprise weekend getaway to an unknown destination.... All packed and ready to go Connor handed Emma a scroll as they got in the car. The scroll read: "To start your surprise you must go to the entrance of the place we first met...probably...and look for the next clue. Love, Connor" Immediately Emma chuckled and said Broadlands! So off they went. At the front door of Broadlands there was a kid's drawing that was signed 'Emma'. Convinced that was the next clue, Emma fixated on the drawing not noticing behind her Connor repeatedly saying "it's not on the door...it's not on the door...Emma it's NOT on the door!" Finally accepting the drawing was just a coincidence Emma looked down at the flower bed to her left and noticed a gift bag. Inside the bag was something deeply meaningful. Back in October 2021 Emma and Connor spent a weekend visiting wineries in Niagara-on-the-lake. The last winery, Hinterbrook, was not only memorable for its delicious wine but also for its unique bottles. The winemaker is an artist and left a number of bottles with blank labels, designed to let the customers use as their own canvas. Connor bought one that day, having loved the idea of turning it into something special! Now, inside the gift bag was that bottle of wine and written on it was "Will You Marry Me" Emma screamed with pure joy as soon as she pulled the bottle out of the bag. She turned around to see Connor on one knee with a ring box in hand. It was the easiest question ever answered. With the diamond on her left ring finger, off they went to Paris (Ontario) for a beautiful weekend to celebrate the first step of forever.
