We met the old-fashioned way: Brian slid into Emma’s DMs. Not long after, we decided to test each other’s cardio on a casual eight-mile first date in the heat of July. After hours of talking and finishing it off with a little ice cream, we were hooked—and the dates kept coming. That summer was full of long days and late nights together, and somewhere along the way love started to grow. We also learned a few important things about each other: Emma absolutely dominates at Wii tennis, and Brian is not exactly the best loser. More importantly, we both realized that what we had was something pretty special. Sometime after that, Brian had the opportunity to move to Moscow, Idaho for work, and together we decided to take the leap and move there. It was a big step for both of us and the start of a new adventure that brought us even closer. Last October we took a trip to Maui, and on a beautiful beach at sunset Brian got down on one knee and asked Emma to marry him. She said yes! Now we’re counting down the days until we get to say “I do” and celebrate with all of the people we love most.
