Branson and Emma both grew up in Georgetown, Texas and were graduates the same year at Georgetown High School! Little did they know that their future spouse was walking the same halls! After high school, Branson headed to Texas Tech where he received his B.S. in Nursing and Emma headed out to Texas A&M and received a B.S in Nutrition. A few years after college, Branson noticed that Emma was in Texas with her family. Branson had been eyeing Emma for quite some time, but wanted to make sure he made the right "first move". He messaged her to meet up for coffee, and after her first refusal (she lived in Cincinnati at the time and was not looking for long distance), she was quickly hooked on Branson's humor and love for his family and God! They went on their first date on December 23. The date lasted almost 24 hours and included a hangout with Ashlynn and Clay and Sarah and Todd, Branson and Emma's siblings! Their next date was on Christmas night where Emma met Branson's entire family for games (we know, normal), and the rest is history!
Branson schemed up quite the surprise for proposing to Emma! They were planning on heading down to Texas for a birthday party and gender reveal and were both excited to spend one last weekend with family on the lake. Emma was super excited to find out the gender of the baby! Saturday morning, Branson woke Emma up early and told her they needed to run and get “burritos” for the party. Emma needed no more explanation for tagging along on a sunrise boat ride, so they happily headed out with coffee and fishing rods in hand, in case there was time to throw in a line. Branson took a loooooonngggg time to find the “fishing” spot and all Emma was thinking was that they were going to be late picking up the burritos! Fortunately for Emma, the perfect spot was underneath a beautiful waterfall where Branson got down on one knee and popped the question! Cali was just as excited as Emma and it was truly a magical moment! The rest of the boat ride back, Branson was not answering any of Emma’s questions and had one more surprise in store. When the boat pulled back up to the dock, all of their family and friends were waiting along the shore ready to celebrate and congratulate the newly engaged couple. The day was truly heartfelt and spent with family and friends, just the way they both imagined.
