Once upon a COVID day, Brady and Emma's paths crossed on a dating app they both said they'd never get. Little did they know their mutual love of Jack Johnson and John Mayer would kick off their love story. On August 1st, 2020, Brady picked Emma up in his 2002 Ford Ranger for a date that she had planned (fitting). They went to grab sushi (Brady got chicken) and drove to the Sutter Buttes to have a movie date in the bed of his truck. Little did she know he'd bring her back 4 years later to propose in the same spot (she might've known). They made it official after a few more dates, and so their story began. Traveling to and from Beale Air Force Base, Yuba City, and/or Sacramento, they took every opportunity to be together and had lots of fun – truly each other's best friend. In May of 2022, they decided to move in together. They chose Rocklin at first, which was mostly equal commuting distance for their work and Emma's school. After two years they'd move to Sacramento for Emma's Master's program and Brady's Air National Guard gig. They've made a home in each other ever since. On New Years Day of 2025, they were reminiscing on their years together and decided to no longer wait for a "good time" to do life... life was happening anyway. They found a jeweler, designed the ring, and eagerly waited for it to be delivered. They planned to get engaged later that year, perhaps on their anniversary in August. However, two days after the ring was delivered, they couldn't wait any longer. He recreated their first date and drove her to the Sutter Buttes. They got out of the car, he got on one knee, and asked her to be his forever (while balling his eyes out). She was happy to oblige. And as they say, the rest is history.
