There's a Home2 Suites at 2001 Main St, directly across the street from the reception space we recommend booking with if you'd like to stay close by. Otherwise, there are many hotels and airbnbs in the Downtown and Crossroads area. If you don't mind a 10-15 minute drive, we also recommend the Plaza area.
Due to the limitations of our reception venue, we are unable to accommodate guests for everyone, only the people listed on your invitation.
St. Michael's will have plenty of parking. At The Otten, there will be limited street parking and some paid lots nearby. We recommend carpooling and Uber-ing as much as possible.
The gap between the Mass and the reception gives you a wonderful opportunity to see Kansas City! We recommend trying the "Mr. Burns" sandwich at Q39 for some authentic KC BBQ, or visiting the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for free entertainment. We also recommend Strang Hall, Parlor, and Casual Animal Brewery for yummy food and drinks. With kids, Crown Center is a popular indoor-outdoor shopping mall with fun attractions and charming stores. Loose Park has a great playground, weather permitting. Union Station is another great option for little kids, big kids, and kids 18+ with escape rooms, Science City, a Planetarium, Disney100: The Exhibition, and more. If you want to arrive at The Otten early, there is a public lounge on the street-level open all day, feel free to enjoy a drink prior to the start of the reception.
Our best guess is a high between 45-55 degrees. It could be sunny, it could snow. But it will be cold.
Dinner will be served around 6:30pm, so we recommend getting a bite to eat after the ceremony to hold you over.
