Emma's POV: We met at Tamarack Ski Resort back in college (the best place to find love). Axel had just come back from a year in Hawaii and I was immediately sucked in by his sun-bleached long hair and cringy dad jokes that lasted the whole chair lift ride. However, our relationship was a slow burn and we were friends for a few years before I decided to take a risk and plant one on him! I was on my way to Park City, UT and Axel was on his way to Colorado-but we just couldn't seem to get enough of each other despite the miles between us. I decided to really up the ante on the miles and move to Peru for the Peace Corps. But this didn't stop Axel! He managed to find a job teaching english in a town north of me and was determined to shorten the miles that separated us. COVID brought about some major changes for all of us, but was really a gift for Axel and I. We found ourselves living together for the first time in the charming little town of Wallace, Idaho. We spent our days backcountry skiing, practicing our swing dancing moves in the living room, trying new recipes, puzzling our hearts out, and making up for lost time. Fast forward to today and we have been living in Missoula, MT for over three years now. We have built a beautiful life together and I couldn't be more certain and excited to spend forever with Axel. Axel’s POV: The first time I saw Emma was at Tamarack Ski resort. I frequented this place a lot, but I’d never seen Emma before! Little did I know that it would be my future wife that I was trying to impress with corny jokes and hot dog skiing! Friendship came quickly between us, and through many social gatherings and small adventures we began to grow closer. The catalyst for this beautiful union happened in Coeur d'Alene in a drunken stupor. Emma invited me to a show downtown, which I eagerly agreed to. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any of the show together. Separated by greater purchasing power and a tall fence, I proceeded to have drinks with friends. But as you all know, love always finds a way! Fate that night was on my side. I couldn’t catch a freaking hint. She invites me out to a concert, introduces me to her family and friends, stays out with me until close, and shares late night thoughts on a bench until the early morning. When she kissed me I knew my life had changed forever. From then on, I was hooked. Where ever she was I wanted to be. I’d travel any distance to see that beautiful girl’s face. Through sparse weekend meet ups to three-hour phone calls, we made it to this wonderful place. I’ve struck gold. We can't wait to celebrate with you all in our own private Idaho!
