What Time Should I Arrive?

Answer

Please arrive before 3pm to enjoy all the festivities! If you are driving, be aware that there is a big Rutgers football game nearby that may increase traffic.

Are Children Allowed?

Answer

Yes, children who are on the invitations are welcome. However, parents are responsible for watching their own children throughout the event. If you prefer to make it a child-free night out, that's fine too!

Can I Bring a Guest?

Please only bring a guest if one has been included on your invitation and you have RSVP'd on his or her behalf.

Can We Take Pictures?

Of course! Please just don't get in the way of the professional photographers or let taking photos and videos prevent you from being fully present and enjoying the event! If you do take photos and post them on social media, please tag us so we can enjoy them too!

What Should I Wear? What About on My Feet?

Answer

Gowns, cocktail dresses, sarees, suits, tuxes, kerwanis, kurtas. Dress up in whatever makes you feel your best! For those who would like to change, there will be an opportunity to do so during the chai/coffee break, as long as you can get back in time for the American ceremony! On your feet: the ceremonies will take place on a patio, and the celebrations will happen indoors. You won't need to worry about heels sinking into the grass, but you will want to be comfortable wearing your shoes for a long time or be prepared to take them off!

What's for Dinner?

We will have a cocktail hour and buffet-style dinner with a variety of mostly Indian dishes. Those dishes will include vegetarian and chicken dishes, as well as rice, bread, and a salad bar. There may be a few non-Indian delicacies thrown in as well.

Will There Be Parking?

There'll be complimentary valet parking at the venue.

Are There Room Blocks and How Will They Work?

The closest hotel is the Springhill Suites. It's right across the parking lot, though we will have shuttles to and from the wedding for those who'd rather not walk. Any afterparty will take place in this hotel. There is a link to a discounted room block there on our travel page. The travel page also has a link to another local hotel at which we have discounted rooms. It is only a five minute drive from the venue but doesn't have shuttles. The rooms are discounted for Friday night (the night before the wedding) and Saturday night. You are welcome to book both nights or just one.

What Will the Weather Be Like?

Answer

Weather-permittting, our ceremonies will be outside between 3pm-and 6:30pm. Typically, the temperature at this time of year is in the 50s and 60s. After the sun goes down, we will be indoors.
