Emma and I first met at the Kent State University library in 2013, when she hired me as her math tutor. She says I wasn’t as nerdy as the guy she expected to meet, but insists her grades improved nonetheless. We went our separate ways after a few sessions until we reconnected five years later on New Year’s Eve, and despite me bringing my two best friends on our first date, she agreed to a second. I proposed to Emma on the banks of the Scioto River in February 2020. While the pandemic put wedding planning on hold before we could even begin, it didn’t stop us from growing together. Since then, Emma became a nurse practitioner, I finished almost half of my doctoral program, and we bought our first house together in Canal Winchester. We’re looking forward to finally starting this new chapter together and can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of it with you!
