We are having a very small wedding on 8/21/26 with immediate family only. We still want to throw a little shin-dig to celebrate with friends and as such we are hosting a weekend in Roslyn as a friends-giving/wedding celebration. If you aren't able to make it we hope to find time to celebrate with you soon!
Ryan: Emma and I first met at our friend Katie's house in Ballard (though Emma doesn't remember meeting me). I had just walked to Katie's from my favorite bar, Shingletown, after tossing back a few cold ones with the fellas, so it's a bit of a shock that I'm the one that remembers, but I think it was because of the feeling I got when I saw her. I was lucky enough to reconnect with her over a year later playing Trivia at Leny's with our friends Katie, Bryce, Dana, and Wyatt; and the rest, as they say, is history. Emma: I do remember that night and a boisterous cohort coming over to Katie's house that evening but Ryan is correct I don't remember meeting him until Leny's. I thought he was cute, by the fall he was known as 'trivia boy' in my friend's group chat.
Ryan: Our first date is a heavily debated topic in our relationship. However, I do think Emma is right - it's when she invited me to Leny's to watch the Kraken game with her. Initially, I thought it was more of a friend hangout and didn't want to get my hopes up thinking it was a date. It did end up being the perfect date as it came to an end while watching Jeopardy at Leny's, can't beat that. Emma: after MANY hints to ask me out I gave up and took it upon myself to ask first. To make it abundantly obvious it was a date, I moved to the chair next to him at Leny's to watch Jeopardy. The 'first date' that asked me on was the week after at Bad Jimmy's Brewing. Afterwards we ended up on a mini food crawl, we split a Thanksgiving pizza slice and Caesar salad at Big Mario's, and then got BBQ down the road. I would be remiss not to mention our third date - as Ryan went to Port Orchard in December came with me to Port Orchard so I could run a marathon in the freezing rain. He spent four hours in an antique museum and then drove me home the two hours in traffic.
Ryan: My favorite thing to do with Emma is “family walks” with me, her, and Tilly. I also love going to Palm Springs and Spain (our two favorite destinations). Last but not least, I really enjoying watching our dumb reality TV shows together (Love is Blind, Vanderpump, Summer House) Emma: Seeing Ryan at the halfway point and the end of a marathon, Traveling, hikes, long chats in long car rides usually to eastern Washington, sitting the sun (when Ryan goes into 'lizard mode'), family walks around the neighborhood, time with our respective two families, getting a sweet treat together.
