we're getting married!!!

It was the beginning of a new school year at Agawam High in September 2018. Kai noticed Emma sitting alone and excitedly joined her. He had previously seen her in the halls and his curiosity grew. Despite Emma’s unenthusiastic glares, Kai was persistent in getting to know her. The pair shared many classes together so their paths were destined to cross. Kai pondered of a way to break through Emma's cold exterior and he decided to begin writing notes containing the corniest dad jokes. And to everyone's surprise, it worked. In the coming months the two grew closer. They began working on projects together, spending more time together, going on family trips together, and even exchanged Christmas gifts as “friends.” Then, one day in January, Emma thought it was a good idea to show off. Kai was helping the school blood bank, so she agreed to donate blood just to skip class to see him. Only, Emma didn’t eat breakfast. She changed three different colors, but Kai stayed by her side with a juice box. Later that day the chemistry was undeniable. While anxiously pacing his room, Kai gathered enough courage to send the message to ask Emma to be his girlfriend. It’d be easy to say the rest was history, but it’s been a good long seven years. Seven years filled with laughs, adventures, moving from place to place, going to college, welcoming new family members, finding careers, personal developments, enduring loss, and navigating their way through life. However, these two lovebirds wouldn’t have it any other way as long as they were side by side. On June 29th, 2024 Kai popped the big question. He took Emma to a rose garden, something that had always held sentimental value to her. He walked her around the garden to show her the flowers, but mostly to pass time. Emma kept making jokes about how he should propose to her there someday and asked if he was messaging the photographer which only made Kai chuckle. As the couple was making their way around a bend Emma saw someone taking pictures and tried to get out of the way. Kai held her hand saying, “It’s for you.” He got on one knee and proposed. Spoiler alert – she said yes! Mark your calendars for September 2026 – because that’s when Kai and Emma will say “I do” and begin their next chapter of their love story.
