Garrison and Emma's story started long before either of them realized. They both grew up in the same school district, sharing classes and always being aware of each other. But despite the shared halls and passing glances, they were never more than acquaintances. Emma was always cheering Garrison on from the sidelines. Then came junior year. After a Friday night football game, Emma’s dad jokingly said, “Can you imagine the height difference if you and Garrison ended up dating?” At the time, it was just a funny comment—but little did Emma know, it would turn out to be a little glimpse into the future. It wasn’t until Emma’s senior year of high school that things started to change. A tight-knit friend group brought them together through countless hangouts, weekend bowling nights, and post-basketball game adventures. Slowly but surely, Emma and Garrison found themselves spending more time together—even outside the group. One night after watching a Gentry soccer games, Garrison invited her to 7 Brew and dinner to “talk about Prom.” That night, he officially asked her to be his prom date. They agreed it would be just as friends and went together with a group, but when Mr. Brightside came on at the dance, they were the only two singing and dancing, something just clicked. If you ask either of them now, they’ll both tell you—that was the moment they knew. Mr. Brightside is, without a doubt, the reason they started dating. From that night on, Emma and Garrison were inseparable. They hung out nearly every night and on June 1st, 2021, Garrison officially asked Emma to be his girlfriend—after her brother bribed him with a free 7 Brew drink to do it that night. (It worked.) Emma soon moved to Missouri to cheer during her freshman year of college while Garrison stayed home to finish his senior year. Long distance became their reality—and while it came with its fair share of challenges, they stayed strong, supporting each other through every season of life. After nearly five years of love, growth, and countless coffee runs, Emma and Garrison can’t wait to finally start their next chapter—on May 29th, 2026. And so, they owe a special thank you to Gentry High School, Mr. Brightside, and 7 Brew Coffee for the start of it all.
