We were almost 'star-crossed lovers'... He lived in Lake Tahoe and was brought there on a whim from Michigan. I lived in cow-town USA, also known as Gardnerville, NV. I spontaneously downloaded a dating app called 'Bumble' simply because I was curious. After ten minutes and one match, I deleted the app. Stephen was my only match. We texted for a few weeks, but I honestly never planned to meet him. My over protective parents taught me that most men on the internet were dangerous, and most likely serial killers! (hahaha) Stephen asked me to meet at the hot springs, but I was "busy with family". He asked me to dinner; I was "sick." Finally, he texted me, "Listen Toots, you have one more shot here. I am leaving for a guy's trip tomorrow. Meet me at 3 am on top of Cave Rock. I will teach you how to take pictures of stars." I thought he was demented for asking me to meet him at 3 am on some dark mountain. He must be a serial killer! And who says "toots" anymore? I tossed and turned that night. It just so happened that it was a 'Super Moon' that evening. The moon shone as bright as it could to keep me awake that night. With trepidation, I gathered what courage I could, got out of bed at 2 am and got in the car. My mind was racing, and I felt a little crazy, to be honest. After driving for 30 minutes, I arrived at the bottom of the mountain. I looked around and no one was there. I called Stephen and he was very surprised. Apparently, he did not expect me to show up and was still in bed. Uh oh, should I wait or leave? I waited. I was curious. Eventually, he met me in the dark on that mountaintop. We talked, we laughed, and we left. We've been adventuring together ever since that fateful night. I'm thankful that everything lined up in our lives to bring us together. God is great, and so are His plans for us. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
