Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emma DeSoto and Oliver Jia-Richards
We're really excited for you all to visit!! Most of what we do is in downtown A2, which is easy to get to from the hotel by the 6 or the 24 bus. Bus tickets can be bought using the "EZFare" app - A2's system is called TheRide. Once you're downtown, everything is within walking distance.

Michigan League & Michigan Union

If you need a break, the Michigan League and Michigan Union buildings are open and nice places to sit or grab a coffee. The Union has a Sweetwaters (our local coffee chain) and nice couches.

Avalon

Avalon

120 East Liberty Street, Ann Arbor, MI

We get brunch here often! All along Liberty are other shops and things, so this is a nice place to get lunch before wandering around downtown A2.

Aventura

Aventura

216 East Washington Street, Ann Arbor, MI

This is both of our favorite restaurant in A2. It's tapas style, and has really good paella.

First Bite

First Bite

108 South Main Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

A casual brunch option with lots of vegan and vegetarian options!

HopCat

HopCat

311 Maynard Street, Ann Arbor, MI

A spot for burgers and local beers. The fries are really good!

TeaHaus

TeaHaus

204 North 4th Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI

Probably the single place we go most often. Oliver's favorite is the Cream Earl Grey, while Emma's is the Yunnan Pu-erh.

Zingerman's Next Door Café

Zingerman's Next Door Café

418 Detroit Street, Ann Arbor, MI

Zingerman's is an A2 staple, and we get coffee at the café super often. It's right by Kerrytown Market, which has a bunch of little shops and things (including Emma's favorite yarn store!)

Detroit Observatory

Detroit Observatory

E Ann St and Observatory St, Ann Arbor, MI

The Observatory is open for drop-in tours (free, led by students) from 12-5 PM on Friday, and hosts events and observatory open-hours (normally free, but pre-registration required) from 8 - 10:30 PM on Fridays. The original equipment is mostly all there, and the observatory has a really cool legacy of early science education.

Law Quadrangle

Law Quadrangle

625 South State Street, Ann Arbor, MI

The whole UM campus is pretty, but the squirrels at the Law Quadrangle are the cutest.

Literati Bookstore

Literati Bookstore

124 East Washington Street, Ann Arbor, MI

There are a ton of great bookstores in A2, but this one is our favorite.

Kelsey Museum of Archaeology

Kelsey Museum of Archaeology

434 South State Street, Ann Arbor, MI

There's a ton of cool ancient roman stuff upstairs. It has limited hours, but if you're in the area we'd really recommend stopping by. Free admission!

University of Michigan Museum of Art

University of Michigan Museum of Art

525 South State Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

The UMMA is enormous, and free. We both really like how they present art history, and it's a really cool museum to wander around if you have a bit of time. Free admission!

University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

1105 North University Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

This museum has mastodon skeletons!!! The building is also an active research laboratory, so you can see some cool stuff being worked on. Free admission!

University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum

University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum

1610 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

We go for walks here to watch the squirrels and groundhogs.

For all the days along the way
