Emin's and Talar's paths have been intertwined. For their entire lives, they had just missed each other. Whether it was at AYF/Homentmen events, Armenian parties, or even growing up just a couple of blocks from each other, the universe always wanted Talar and Emin to meet. It just had to be at the right place, during the right time. Talar and Emin met on Kyank, the Armenian dating app (yes, there's an Armenian dating app) in early 2022. Emin liked Talar's picture; Talar commented on Emin's prompt regarding her mutual distaste of khash; Emin gave the correct answer when Talar asked, "Paul or Harout?" (the answer is obviously Harout). But of course, he had to rep Andy. After many silly and serious conversations, Emin knew he needed to meet Talar in person. Emin and Talar met on an unusually warm afternoon at Urth Cafe on January 30th and the rest, as they say, was history. They spent several hours discussing anything and everything, including Lord of the Rings (it's Emin, duh), to the constructs of happiness, and of course, Nordstrom's amazing return policy. They knew something was different, when, after several hours at Urth, they were disappointed at the thought of having to part ways. What was meant as a one-hour coffee date, (which Talar can attest to since she brought her books along with her), turned into a 9 hour first date. At the end of that first date, Talar went to her best friends and said, "I found the one." Since then, Talar and Emin have been inseparable.
