Will and Emily met in Sept. 2016 after both swiping right on Tinder! It was a modern day romance. After chatting a bit online about the TV show Atlanta, Will asked Emily to meet him at DC Reynolds, a bar in his neighborhood, that Friday night. They talked about their mutual love for the podcast Comedy Bang Bang, their bar/bat mitzvah themes (Will's was books and Emily's was butterflies), and how Will had moved to DC just over a month ago. It was clear from night one that sparks were in the air. Over the next few weeks, Will and Emily spent a lot of time together: trying new restaurants, going on walks, watching movies, and making pasta from scratch! Things were moving happily in the right direction. When Emily's mom Susan died in February, fewer than five months into their relationship, Will flew to Massachusetts to be with Emily. He has continued to support her through her grief, and as they learned how to manage some of life's hardest moments their love grew easily, honestly, and deeply. After a challenging summer apart while Will was in New York doing book research, Will and Emily moved in together in October 2017! They celebrated their one-year anniversary with tickets to Solange (amazing!) and began cohabitation in Columbia Heights. On the morning of March 17, 2018, Will brought Emily a mug of coffee in bed (as he usually does) and told her how much he loved her (as he usually does). But then he added a bunch of other really amazing, honest, and heartfelt stuff, and asked her if she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. She smiled and said, "Yes, yes, yes, yes!" Will and Emily had an amazing wedding on May 5, 2019 and can't wait to keep celebrating their marriage for years to come.
