Walker and Emily were first introduced through the little-known dating app, Hinge while Emily was finishing her first semester of medical school at UW-Madison and Walker was living and working in Janesville, Wisconsin. Their first date was at a local coffee shop, Indie Coffee, where Walker pretended to like coffee and Emily shared that she had always wanted to go there (she had never heard of it before). Over the last three years, Walker and Emily have navigated the medical school journey together, closed the 50-minute separation by moving into an apartment in Madison, and gone on multiple camping road trips. Additionally, Walker has bravely learned to ski as an adult, which has become a newly shared hobby. Most recently, they’ve been raising their English Cocker Spaniel puppy, Indie, named after the location of their very first date. They’re excited to be living in Madison for another three years as Emily continues her medical training in internal medicine residency starting this June.
