You know that part in the movie when two strangers meet and everything fades into the background as if those two are the only ones there? Take that and set it in a Lower East Side dive bar and you have the start to Emily and Ryan’s love story. After hitting it off at Leave Rochelle Out on Halloween weekend 2018, Ryan asked Emily on a date. Ryan decided their first date was the perfect occasion to be late for once in his life… But when he arrived it didn't feel like a first date, both felt so at ease and felt as if they had known each other for years. Drinks at Goodnight Sonny turned into late night dinner at Ferns and hours later the two had to be asked to leave so Ferns could close. On their date they learned about a mutual friend connection to whom Emily texted “What do you know about Ryan DeFeo? He seems too perfect!” Over the next four years Emily and Ryan would learn all about the invisible strings that connected them and realize it was fate they finally met. The happy couple enjoys exploring all the restaurants in their neighborhood, unwinding at Brooklyn breweries, hiking in New Hampshire, relaxing on the Jersey shore, and their favorite... playing with their puppy Leroy.
The Proposal

On the coldest day of 2023 (Feb 4th) Ryan somehow convinced Emily to leave their cozy apartment. After a surprise dinner at a place Emily had been asking to go for YEARS, and after a nightcap at their favorite wine bar Ryan proposed to Emily in their West Village apartment. Emily screamed “of course!” and jumped on Ryan before he could even open the ring box. Ryan surprised Emily with a Kardashian sized bouquet and brunch the following morning at Ferns to celebrate a full circle moment.
