Marblehead Old Town is a great area to walk around, pop in shops, or grab a drink or a bite. You'll be greeted by colorful pre-revolutionary homes. Marblehead was founded in the 1600's, and each house in this area has a plaque with the history and year it was built in! You may notice golden cods on houses which are our local symbol of hospitality!
Can't visit New England without seeing a lighthouse!
The main beach in town, which has a causeway adjoined for walking that connects the strip of land from Marblehead to Marblehead Neck. One side of the causeway has views of the Atlantic, and the other views of the harbor.
One of the oldest English coastal forts in the US, built in the 1600's overlooking the entrance to Marblehead Harbor as well as Cape Ann. This is now a beautiful park and where Emily's parents met on the 4th of July in 1990!
Our favorite spot to grab a beer and some chowder overlooking the harbor.
Castle Rock Park overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is a fun spot for exploring the cliffs, rock terraces, and tide pools. It once served as a lookout point for arriving and departing fishing fleets, as well as pirate and enemy ships, both British and French.
If you know us you know we love a picnic in the park - grab a sandwich from Shubie's on Atlantic Ave and plop at Crocker to enjoy stunning views of the water. This also has Nina's seal of approval.
If you're feeling witchy, checkout Salem, the infamous town over that's home to the Witch Trials and the filming of Hocus Pocus, witch museums, and shops and restaurants. October is Salem's busiest time of year with their Haunted Happenings occuring throughout the month, so plan ahead if you're stopping through.
