WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

We met in Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium before we headed to Smith Mountain Lake for Hokie Camp. Emily sat next to Luke and quickly introduced herself...she thought he was SOOO cute. They went to Hokie Camp and when they got back to campus they ran into each other in a dining hall where Luke asked for Emily's number. The weekend before classes started they went to their first fraternity party together.

We remained friends all through college, but always thought about each other. After graduation, Luke went on to move back to Maryland and work, while Emily stayed at Virginia Tech for a one year Master's program. Emily moved to Richmond after grad school and was out having margaritas with her roommate (Katie) one night. She told her roommate that she still always thought about Luke. Katie told Emily to text him...so she did. A few months later Emily moved to Georgetown to live with Luke...and here we are today.

We had plans to go to the Georgetown Waterfront with Erica and Joey for a little picnic. Once we got there we gave Erica a call to let her know we were parking and she said, she and Joey were "picking up the food" and to walk along the water while we waited for them. We began walking (well Luke was basically running) until we reached a specific lookout over the river. We looked at each other and Luke said "I have some good news and bad news...the bad news is there is no picnic, the good news is we are going to remember this moment for the rest of our lives...are you ready?"
