How we met

March 13, 2016

Emily & Patrick matched on a popular dating app and just started chatting. Patrick open with the ever popular first line of “I have a beard”. But luckily, in Emily’s profile, she had the line “Beards are cool too”. Clearly they were two peas in a pod. But for the record, Patrick swiped right first✨

First date

April 22, 2016

Since they met on a dating app, when they had their first official date, Emily made her dad answer the door. And everyone (including Emily’s cat Finn) met Patrick before she did. They went for ice cream at Fritz’s and ended up seeing a movie too (The Boss). The date went so well, they had their second date the next day, on Patrick’s birthday before Emily went back to school. By the end of date two, Emily was already in love.💕

The proposal

December 7, 2019

Patrick always joked that he would propose with a ring pop and Emily said that was fine as long as its watermelon. They were decorating the Christmas tree at Emily’s parent’s house. Emily was hanging an ornament when Patrick threw a baggie at her (literally) and said “hey can you put this on for me?”. And as you may have guessed, inside the baggie was a watermelon ring pop. Before Emily could even figure out what was going on, Patrick was down on one knee. Janice was yelling in the background that she wasn’t ready as Emily stood there shocked and in love. I think you can guess that Emily said yes but she in fact said “uh yeah” because she is a woman of eloquence. And to show Lauren how special she is to him, Patrick gifted her a necklace that said “pals” on one side and “bff” on the other. There were kisses, hugs, happy tears, and a champagne toast🥂
